In 2008, during a fishing trip that brought Kent into the company of Sweden's renowned architects, a pivotal moment transpired. Fueled by a documentary depicting a young man's desire to build a treehouse by the Lule River, an idea was born—a collective dream to craft a series of treerooms that would form the nucleus of a new hotel. And thus, Treehotel was conceived.

Kent's return home marked the genesis of an ambitious project. With the purchase of surrounding land, the transformation began. Rather than demolishing the original guesthouse, Kent and Britta chose to preserve its timeless charm, creating a seamless fusion between the old and the new—a journey that transcends time and space.

From this humble inception emerged a beacon of elevated design, drawing upon the talents of some of Scandinavia's most renowned architectural firms. Subsequent additions, like the Biosphere, further elevated Treehotel to new heights, quite literally in the case of the latter, hanging several meters above ground.
