This summer I had the chance to experience CLSR Boutique Festival at the magical Stora Sundby Castle outside Eskilstuna, Sweden. If you’re into electronic music, boutique-style festivals, and one-of-a-kind locations – this is definitely an event to put on your list for your summer trip to Sweden
CLSR hosts one of Sweden’s most ambitious music lineups in a intimate . Previous editions have featured names like Solomun, Tale Of Us, Rufus Du Sol, Paul Kalkbrenner, and Eric Prydz, and the most hyped DJ for 2025 was without doubt Eric Prydz.
But it’s not only about music. The whole festival is built around the visual and sensory experience – art installations, lights, and the fairytale backdrop of Stora Sundby Castle make the location truly unique compared to any other festival in Sweden. It’s an intimate festival experience, thanks to the restricted number of festivalgoers, which is a stark contrast to the huge crowds at Tomorrowland.
CLSR Location: Stora Sundby Castle
The setting itself is reason enough to go. Stora Sundby Castle is considered one of Scandinavia’s most beautiful castles, and the festival takes place right on its grounds. Imagine dancing to world-class DJs while the sun sets behind a historic castle – it feels like something out of a movie.
Getting To CLSR Festival at Stora Sundby Castle
CLSR has made some options for you to reach the festival:
From Stockholm: Direct shuttle buses depart from Scandic Anglais at Stureplan and Cityterminalen. Travel time is about 1h40min.
From Eskilstuna: If you stay overnight in Eskilstuna, shuttle buses run from outside Elite Hotel.
By Car: Parking is available about a 10–15 minute walk from the castle. Sleeping in a rooftop tent or van is allowed – and the parking was free when we went.
Private bus: Larger groups can book their own bus transport through Axelssons Buss.
Helicopter: Yes, it’s possible! Limited landing spots are available via Arlanda Helicopter. Expect around €3000–4000 one way for 5–6 people.
CLSR Food & Drinks
As with previous years, the food court had a great mix of vendors – with vegetarian and vegan options available. Multiple bars served both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Shout-out to the bartender who poured wine into huge cups – definitely festival style!
CLSR Festival Stages & Arts
There are two stages: the main stage in front of the castle, and the Harambe Stage. Beyond the music, the organizers put effort into art and installations across the castle grounds, making it feel like a boutique festival playground.
CLSR Festival Tickets
Tickets are only available 6 months in advance and until they sell out, not at the door.
General admission gets you full access to both stages and festival areas.
VIP tickets (around 120–150 EUR) include a less crowded balcony with a direct castle view.
Our group had the VIP tickets. Some of us were gifted a VIP band through Ninja Casino, which gave us access to a secluded area with amazing views.
My Experience at the CLSR Festival
We had perfect weather – sunny skies and calm conditions, which really added to the atmosphere. Eric Prydz was headlining the night we went, and that was the absolute highlight for us.
My outfit was from Magical Wonderland Clothing – a fun contrast to the usually minimalistic Scandinavian festival style. While many people kept it simple, there were definitely some fashionistas in the crowd which made the vibe even better.
One downside was the heavy police presence. There was a large-scale raid going on, and although I appreciate safety and security, it did kill the party vibe at times. Officers were pulling people from the crowd seemingly at random, which made it feel a little tense.
Overall though, the experience was unforgettable.
